About Us

We have lived in our apartment for a little over 10 years. When I say “we” I’m talking about me, my husband Mark, and our four children. Yep! There are 6 of us crammed into a little 3 bedroom apartment, but we make it work. For ages, it seems, we’ve always wanted to own our own home on a nice stretch of land where the only thing we can see are trees and sky. (Don’t we all?)

Life and the economy being the way it is, seems to keep us here in this apartment. Now, with a pandemic, it looks like we’ll be here for a while longer. We are grateful at how lucky we’ve been during all of this. Uncertainty is scary, but we’re doing okay all things considered.

Being stuck at home has actually inspired us creatively. For me, I've started crafting decorative and useful items for our garden space by repurposing materials that would otherwise end up in a landfill. For Mark, he has turned our patio into a gorgeous sanctuary.

Every spring and summer, we always grow whatever we can on our patio and we’ve had to get creative with our already limited space. 2020 has been different. All we have is time, but we also have pots, seeds, and compost. We knew that there are others like us cramped in their living space aching to get out.

We thought it would be great to share ideas how to make your space a sanctuary. Sitting outside every morning, sipping coffee, writing in my journal, I found peace. Despite the cramped quarters, despite the city noise, and despite all of the news I couldn’t bear to watch, I still found peace.

Our goal at Apartment Gardens is to provide our fellow gardeners with the resources they need to make the most of their space. If you’re just getting started, don’t worry. We have products for every level of gardener. Even if you think you don’t have a green thumb, much less a single green cell in your body, you can grow food to support yourself and your family as well as flowers and plants to beautify your living space, inside and out, regardless of where you live.

Although we're just getting started, we hope to give you the best selection of items from our local artisans to your garden space. (You might see some of my stuff pretty soon too!)

We're still on the hunt, so sign up for our newsletter and stay tuned for future announcements on the treasures that we find!
